Understanding the Data Flow
This lesson teaches how data flows through the Harmony system.
Flow of Operation
Data flows (from right-to-left) in the diagram below.
- Employees clock-in at one of the terminals (on the right).
- The terminals are connected online to the communication server running SY-Server software.
- SY-Server receives queries from the terminal and sends requests to the Harmony server, or receives data and enters it into the Harmony data base.
- Harmony users (on the left) connect to the Harmony server to view and edit data. Web Clients (running E-Harmony) connect via the IIS server.
